Founding

The founding of the university is established through budgeted systems that will create a non-profit organization that will be run by a university trust. The founding process is done through the Executive office of the founding Vice Chancellor Professor Raphael Njoroge who is helped in the set-up by Kenyans abroad and in Kenya to set-up the systems to apply. He is also advised by various professors and professionals both in Kenya and abroad. The foundation process is set to be fully established by Professor Raphael Njoroge who will set up the Board of Trustees, a board he shall serve in his capacity role as vice chancellor and also the management council that he shall head as the executive officer of university.

Professor Raphael J. Njoroge

A scholar, author of six books and entrepreneur, Professor Njoroge started teaching in high school. As headmaster of Mangu High School he relocated and expanded the vision of the school. Thereafter he joined University of Nairobi and then Kenyatta University where he was Chairman of the Department of Educational Foundations, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Director of the Bureau of Research. He was also a founding Commissioner for Higher Education and was awarded the honor of the Silver Star of Kenya (SS) for his contribution toward education. After relocating to U.S, he has been part of WPI and the Worcester Consortium of colleges. More Info

Founding Research Bio-Technology Park and Deputy Vice Chancellor
Dr. Wilson Endege

Dr. Endege has over 20 years experience carrying out drug and biomarker research in the human and animal health fields. He currently works at the Harvard Medical School as a Senior Research Scientist. His current research is on the discovery of cancer therapeutic targets. Before joining Harvard Dr. Endege held senior scientist positions in the biotechnology industry at Millennium Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Chiron Diagnostics Corporation Inc. His research work in cancer biomarkers and therapeutics discovery at both corporations resulted into at least five issued patents in the field of cancer biomarkers and drug discovery. More Info

The office of the Founding Vice chancellor is responsible for founding two independent processes that shall be merged to become the university.

Prof. Raphael Njoroge works closely with Professor Arthur Gerstenfeld, with whom they have co-authored two books, Professor Susan-Vernon Gertenfeld and other WPI professors and Kenya professors

University Operation & Development Systems

This involves developing systems of land, space & Infrastructure and set-up of budgets to match education systems. These systems are developed or set-up to be developed by various professors & professionals as well as companies in Kenya: Mwangi Njenga & Co Advocates, Dimensions Architects, Diaspora Homes (K) Ltd., and Kigum Ltd.

Professor Arthur Gerstenfeld

An inventor with four patents, scholar, author of nine books and philanthropist, Professor Gerstenfeld started travelling to Africa in 1985 and since then has found time to advance the growth of Africa. He launched and was Chairman of WPI U.S-Africa Business Conferences that has advanced the University in Africa project initiative. Is Project Director of WPI Wall Street Center in New York and London. He also founded the WPI project centers in Namibia 2003 and South Africa 2007. More Info

Professor Susan-Vernon Gerstenfeld

A Fulbright scholar, author, director of academic programs and planning at WPI, Director of WPI project centers in Costa Rica and Puerto Rico. Professor Gerstenfeld has a keen interest in sustainable development, environmental issues, management of water, and pedagogy of teaching. More Info
